The invention relates to a rotatable element for a motor vehicle steering wheel having a non-rotatably connected base element and a rotatable part, wherein the base element is connected to the rotatable part by a positive engagement. The base element has a first friction surface on which a second friction surface is formed. The first friction surface and the second friction surface are each in frictional contact with a region of a rotatably mounted bearing surface of the rotatable part.
In a known steering wheel, in the area of a friction surface, a gear wheel is arranged, which engages positively with a shaft of the steering wheel when the latter is rotatably mounted on the shaft. This positive engagement is created by engagement of teeth on the shaft with the gear wheel. A friction surface of the gear wheel is in frictional contact with a bearing surface of the shaft, which has been provided with a lubricant film. The first friction surface of the friction element is therefore provided as a part of the gear wheel and is therefore rotatingly mounted directly on the bearing surface of the shaft.
In the area of a positive engagement, frictional forces occur in which the negative friction action of the rotatable elements is effectively canceled out. In particular, the rotatable part of the steering wheel, the shaft 0b46394aab
