There's nothing particularly exciting about this tool in that it is more or less as just about any of the various 3d modeling programs you can imagine. The user interface is pretty well laid out and it is very easy to use. We also like the fact that the face-pick tools are much finer than the true 3D modeling programs out there. Still, what makes this tool stick out as one of the better ones on the market is the fact it has the added functionality of morphing and generating expressions. It also has very good facial retouching and facial features tools. I haven't used real 3D modeling tools since the early 90's and still have my old Pentium 3 machine running right now but I was not able to get it to crash during tryout of the tool. The face-pick and template tools perform smoothly and have an intuitive feel to them and that is what does it for me. Rather than just randomly drawing one, I was able to pick in a much more figurative way.
FaceGen Modeller 3.0.3 + Customizer 1.3.1 + Model Sets is a wonderful tool that offers complete control over face features, color, injection, lighting, and even 24-bit textures. You can generate higher-resolution, photorealistic faces than many other programs that are in the same price range - which is really a nice bonus.
I really liked the fact that you could have a whole bunch of images of different sizes to choose from and then choose one of the fonts and other fonts as well to use for the name. It is really important to be able to customize and then customize your designs. While FaceGen Modeller is not a program like Flash where you can download a plugin, we found that occasionally a plugin would fail to download. In most cases, this was caused by our firewall block, and we would just go ahead and try to download the program. Then, if it did not work the first time, we would try the second time, and the third time and so on, and eventually it would work and we would be able to download the program. d2c66b5586
