The screenplay, by first-time writer-director Tom Vaughan, is a sort of paean to self-absorbed small-town American married couples. The film's best idea is that they're all characters in a soap opera, where the problems in their marriages are problems for the characters in the show. The film's message seems to be that if you just ignore your wife's lack of orgasm, everything will be fine. That's a wonderful message, but since the screenplay is so weak, it won't be able to convince people of it.
It's not a successful strategy because the characters don't seem real, just like the movie. The screenplay is so feebly written that you can almost hear the story conferences over the soundtrack. It's like watching a series of dramatic monologues, or listening to conversations between actors in a soap opera. It's one of those movies where you can see the screenwriter's notes in the dialogue.
All of these people are depicted with a sort of deadpan disdain for their spouses and for themselves. It's as if we're watching a series of confessional interviews, with one person after another confessing their lack of sexual desire, their frustrations at their marriages, and so on. The film has a disconcerting feel, and every so often, you find yourself wondering whether the characters really believe that their wives have never had an orgasm, or whether they're just making the movie. As in Crazy People, we're never sure whether these people are real characters or just so much stagecraft.

One of the drawbacks to this approach was that we needed to recompile every time we made even a small change to the code. This slowed everything else we were doing down and because we couldn't always have someone waiting for the application to finish building. 827ec27edc
