As this is the first IJPDP, the proceedings of which are planned to be published as an official journal of IJPDP, this journal will be expected to include all aspects of dermatology, including the basic sciences, molecular pathology, clinical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology, hair and nail disorders, pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy, dermatologic surgery, and dermatopathology. IJPDP will publish high quality articles which are rigorous, well designed, and well communicated, to provide a forum for the best of the current knowledge on all aspects of dermatology, irrespective of the country, and to stimulate thinking, research, and collaborations. IJPDP will also have a significant impact on the field of procedural dermatology and will provide a platform for publication of high quality original research as well as critical review articles, case reports, short communication, and other contributions in all aspects of procedural dermatology.
In the last few decades, procedural dermatology has increasingly become a focus of interest for health care professionals and patients. Many of the commonly performed procedures have a primarily cosmetic goal. As a result, procedural dermatology is a specialty area in its own right and requires its own board certification. Procedural dermatology is a very complex field and encompasses a wide array of dermatologic surgeries, procedures, and devices. Procedural dermatology is a promising area for future collaboration between basic and clinical scientists and will allow scientists to study all aspects of the disease process while eliminating the surgical bias inherent in conventional surgery and skin biopsies.
Appropriate training of physicians is a critical component in the development of modern medicine. A well-trained dermatologist will be able to provide valuable advice for both patients and referring physicians and will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team managing severe dermatologic diseases. In addition to surgical skills for direct interventions, a professional competency includes the ability to provide counseling for patient and family, to diagnose and manage patients with skin diseases, and to provide guidance for safe and effective treatment options. A well-trained dermatologist will also have knowledge of the basic sciences, medical ethics, the economics of healthcare, health policy, and the other components of patient-centered care.
Some applications, such as Java, require that the application directories and libraries are updated to a newer version before the user can update. However, there are some applications that are not explicitly API-specific, such as the X Window System, the X server source code, are automatically updated as required.
